Serena Kirawira is a high specification permanent tented camp located in western Serengeti along the Grumeti River Valley. The location comes into its own in May and June when this sector of Serengeti become scenario of the wildebeest migration and thousand of them cross the river infested with crocodiles.

The camp consists of 25 well appointed safari tents, raised on decks and overlooking the savannah and acacia woodlands. Each tent features two twin beds or one double bed, en-suite bathroom with running water in basin and shower, flush loo, internet WiFi, internal phone network. Electricity is provided 24/24 hr through a combined system of generator and solar panels. Mobile phones, cameras and video devices can be recharged any time directly in your chalet.
On request it is possible to add a third bed but note that you will not have much room left.

The camp is complemented by the lounge, the mess tent and the swimming pool.

If you wish to stay at Serena Kirawira in May and June you have to book at least 8 - 9 months in advance or you will hardly get a room. During all other months availability should not be a problem but the area loses most of its relevance to become just a pleasant backwater.

The camp belongs to the chain of large Serena Lodges catering for the upper-middle market packaged safari clientele however Serena Kirawira does not suffer as much as the other properties from impersonal service and it is in fact the only facility to offer a high standard of service.
