Selous: from February rains start to occur with greater intensity and the landscape should definitely turn green. The number of sightings compared to previous months decreases but it is qualitatively compensated since animals start to have their young. If lucky you might be able to witness a birth. Animals in the reserve include buffalos, many elephants at this time of year, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, wildebeest and antelope, hyenas, lions, leopards and wild dogs. If lucky you might spot cheetahs and jackals.

Ruaha has got its peculiar rains trend. After the peak of December and January rains start slowly to decrease until they come to an end usually within the end of April. The landscape takes on a fresh sheen hung with flowers and vegetation replenishes. Sightings are no doubt less compared to dry season but here as well mammals start to have their young. Lions, hyenas, jackals, crocodiles and hippos, warthogs, giraffes, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, kudu are almost regularly encountered. Leopards and cheetahs are also around but you will need some luck to spot them. Instead sightings of roan antelope and sable antelope become very rare. The high variety of birds species includes at this time of the year the Eurasian migratory ones.
