Day 1
Visited park: Lake Manyara National Park
Dinner and overnight: Tloma mountain Lodge
Upon arrival at Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport you will be met by your private guide and car and depart to Lake Manyara NP to enjoy a gentle game driving. This park is considered a bird watchers paradise with its over 380 different species. Unlikely other parks, it offers the spectacle of large flocks more than that of single sightings.

Day 2
Visited park: Serengeti central
Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Kati Kati
In central Serengeti the progression of the dry season forces animals to adapt to different lifestyles than in green season ... Gazelles and antelopes have to gather along permanent rivers and water sources ... predators are compelled to compress their territory close to the same water sources ... Seronera is hosting the largest population of cats in Africa ...

Day 3
Visited park: Serengeti central and surroundings
Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Kati Kati
A full day out in the bush ... at dawn to sight predators hunting or returning from their nightly hunting forays and to witness cubs playing ... nearby the river courses where predators wait their preys moving along very predictable routes ... driving through alternative and more remote locations in the afternoon in order to enjoy a truly excellent wilderness experience where almost no other cars will be met ... lunch at the camp or pic nic, since you are travelling with private car and vehicle you can entirely dictate the pace of your day.

Day 4
Visited park: Serengeti north-east and Mara
Dinner and overnight: Lemala Mara
Between the end of June and the beginning of July the wildebeest migration usually abandons the western corridor heading north, to the Serengeti Mara region. It is hard to predict where exactly herds will be located when you will be in the park, on average they arrive in the Mara region in the second half of July and at that time crossings also start to occur. After breakfast you will leave for Serengeti Mara where you will arrive after about five hours game driving accross the park ... once there you will start game driving along the Mara River banks looking for wildebeest herds ready to cross ...

Note: unlike the other facilities of this itinerary which all provide an average level of servicing, Lemala Mara is a relatively high-specification mobile tented camp. This sector of the park lacks of mid-specification facilities and only offers accommodation in rustic or luxurious camps. If you can adapt to lower budget options then you might consider staying at:
Serengeti Savannah Camp north: set about 1 km far from the river, open from July the 20th]
Serengeti Wilderness Camp north: set about 30 min. away from the river, open from July the 1st]
Alternatively, should you prefer to save some more money, you might consider to stay at Lobo Wildlife Lodge in north-eastern Serengeti and reach Serengeti Mara with a daily game drive from there. From Lobo it will take about 3 hours to arrive in the Mara region and again 3 hours to come back. Transfers occur inside the park and are game drives to all effects.

Day 5
Visited park: Serengeti Mara and Lamai wedge
Dinner and overnight: Lobo Wildlife Lodge
Moving along the Mara river banks you might be able to sight elephants herds passing from one side to the other, large families of hippos resting in the water, huge Nile crocodiles and with a little luck wildebeest crossing the river... the Lamai wedge on the other side of the river and the beginning of the Mara watershed where little by little the acacia groves give way to the open savanna. This is one of the most remote areas of Serengeti, topographically very similar to Kenyan Masai Mara which extends beyond the border, here you can possibly sight wildebeest herds but also many other herbivores along with their predators although sightings of cats never reach that of central Serengeti at this time of the year. By mid-afternoon you will continue game driving towards Lobo reaching the lodge in about 3 hours.

Note: instead of moving to Lobo we can arrange two consecutive nights in Serengeti Mara which will allow you to gain some time and stay longer in the Lamai wedge or enjoy another game drive along the river at sunset. Spending two nights here, at this time of the year, it is well worth.

Day 6
Visited park: western-central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Dinner and overnight: Ndutu safari Lodge
After an early morning game drive in the beautiful landscape of Lobo you will leave for Lake Ndutu which straddles the border between Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ndutu is a much visited area between December and April when the migration gathers on these fertile short grass plains to graze and calve but in dry season, when all mobile camps move northwards it remains equally interesting given the good deal of resident wildlife and even more pleasant considering the little number of cars game driving around which also prevents animals to be disturbed and increases changes of enhanced sightings ...

Day 7
Visited park: Ngorongoro crater
Dinner and overnight: Ngorongoro Farm House
Today you will explore the famous caldera, one of the most fascinating places of Africa. Thanks to the variety of habitats [long and short grasses savannahs, acacia forest, woodland, clearings, swamps, freshwater and soda lakes] it hosts all year round about 30.000 animals ...

Day 8
Breakfast and return back to Arusha. Time permitting visit Mto wa Mbu market or enjoy a visit to a coffee plantation with hot lunch [the visit to the coffee plantation has to be requested at the time of booking].

Private guide and 4x4 safari vehicle at your exclusive use;

Accommodation in mid-specification facilities and relatively high in Serengeti Mara;

Meet some members of the Hadzabe bushmen, a tribe refusing modernity. Go hunting with men or gathering with women.

At Lake Manyara: dense groundwater forest, baboons and blue monkeys, buffaloes, elephants and other herbivores, large flocks. If lucky tree-climbing lions.

In central Serengeti: plenty of gazelles; high concentration of cats and in particular leopards, lions and cheetahs ... hyenas, jackals, vultures and marabou ... herbivores and other resident species including the little Bat-eared Fox.

In Serengeti Mara: wildebeest river crossings [most likely to occur from the second half of the month onwards], huge Nile crocodiles, large families of hippos

In Ndutu: one of the most relevant population of cheetahs of all Serengeti, lions, hippos, many birds, off-road rare species such as the striped hyena ... off-road game drives but above all a virtually private Serengeti

In the Ngorongoro crater: zebras, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions and cheetahs ... with a little luck leopards along with serval cats ... virtually all the cast except giraffes
