Safari 606L: accommodation in high-specification lodges and tented camps

Kisima ngeda tented lodge

Hadzabe bushmen, Lake Eyasi

Moru Kopjes

Pioneer camp, guests tent

Day 1
Visited park: Lake Manyara National Park
Dinner and overnight: Kisima Ngeda Tented Lodge
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport you will be met by your private guide and car and depart to Lake Manyara NP to enjoy a gentle game driving. A dense groundwater forest, small savannahs, swamps and reed beds characterize this land considered a bird watchers paradise ...

Day 2
Visited Area: lake Eyasi
Dinner and overnight: Exploreans Ngorongoro
Taking part to everyday life of a tribe is, in our opinion, the most authentic way to approach a different culture ... today you will wake up at 5 to hunt with the Hadzabe men or alternatively to gather herbs, fruit, roots, berries and tubers with their women ...

Day 3
Visited park: Ngorongoro crater
Dinner and overnight: Exploreans Ngorongoro
After breakfast you will depart with your guide and car to spend the day game driving into the famous caldera with picnic lunch. Since you can entirely dictate the pace you might decide to leave the crater as late as possible or to return to the lodge after the picnic to relax.

Day 4
Visited park: Serengeti south-eastern and central
Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Pioneer Camp
When moving northwards the wildebeest migration forms very large and impressive columns. Today you will visit some remote and wild areas in south-eastern Serengeti where transiting herds along with the presence of many gazelles and antelopes should have triggered a high concentration of cheetahs as well as a number of lions. You will then reach at sunset the Seronera valley, actually one of the best spot in whole continent to sight leopards ...

Day 5
Visited park: Serengeti central and western-central
Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Pioneer Camp
Beyond wildebeest and zebra migratory herds you should be able to sight buffaloes and elephants herds along with other herbivores such as giraffes, impala, gazelles, antelopes ... among predators you might sight lions, cheetah, jackals and hyenas but also less common species such us caracal and serval ... the very lucky ones could also encounter rhinos ... the landscape should be green strewn with flowers ... this is an excellent time for time for photography since clouds provide stunning depth and contrast while bright greens provide great pop of colors.
Today you can opt to return to the camp for lunch or you can decide to spend the whole day out with picnic lunch in the bush.

Day 6
Visited park: Serengeti central or Ndutu
Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Pioneer Camp
In accordance with your desire of exploration today you might decide to continue game driving in central Serengeti and surrounding allowing you to return to the camp for lunch or you could spend the whole day out reaching Lake Ndutu where off-tracks is still permitted. Albeit the bulk of the migration should have nearly abandoned Ndutu, a part of it usually lingers in the area to graze which causes part of predators that reached Ndutu in the previous months triggered by the abundance of food to remain nearby. Migration apart, Ndutu area, characterized by two alkaline lakes and by the surrounding marshes supports year round good resident game. Beyond herbivores, lions and one of the most important population of cheetahs of all Serengeti you might see rare and elusive speciessuch as aardwolf, striped hyena and hunting dogs ... lots of flowers and butterflies ...

Day 7
After breakfast take your last game drive in Seronera along the way to the airstrip. A morning flight will scoop you from here and take you to Arusha or to Kilimanjaro airport.

Meet some members of the Hadzabe bushmen, a tribe refusing modernity. Go hunting with men or gathering with women.

In the Ngorongoro and southern Serengeti plains: off-roads game drives, ostrich, giraffes, gazelles, elands, zebras, scattered wildebeest groups, lions, cheetahs, many birds species including flamingos and some Eurasian migrants. If lucky leopards, wild dogs, striped hyenas and caracal.

In central Serengeti: plenty of migratory wildebeest herds, buffaloes and elephants herds, zebras, gazelles and antelopes, leopards, lions and cheetahs, jackals and spotted hyenas, crocodiles and hippos;

Green plains dotted by flowers, butterflies, heavy downpours lasting 30 - 60 minutes normally occur in the early morning or evening.

In the Ngorongoro crater: elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions and cheetahs ... Leopards if lucky.
