Lobo Wildlife Lodge is located in the north-east side of the Serengeti, close to Klein's gate and about 45 minutes away from the border with Kenya.

Morphologically this is a very interesting area of the park, according to us always worth a visit. The lodge itself is a truly spectacle of brilliant architectural solutions. It was entirely built over and around a huge kopje enjoying stunning views over the immense Serengeti plains and the Northern Corridor.

Lobo offers excellent game drives opportunities in dry season and it ìs renowned for being home, year-round, to lions prides and cheetahs. Between July and August and again in November Lobo comes into his own with the wildbeest migrations moving across the area. Furthermore between July and August and up to October the lodge can be used as a base for daily game drives to Serengeti Mara when crossings become the main event along the banks of Mara river which waters hosts huge Nile crocodiles and large families of hippos.

The lodge consists of about 70 rooms each with double or twin beds. Space is rationalized and does not allow inclusion of a third bed except when the third guest is a child under 13. There are no triple rooms for adults but, if available, it is possible to book interconnecting rooms.

Despite its potentiality the lodge only provides an average level of service. Especially at high season, you should be ready to compromise with some malfunctioning like hot water taking quite a lot of time before reaching your room or the double shift at the restaurant which dining room is not so large to host at one time guests of all rooms but also the staff who, unable to keep up with the pace, tends to go into a tailspin forgetting your request ... however the price is still the lowest you can get in this area of the park. Alternatively you might decide to stay in the Mara region where anyway there are only relatively high standard accommodation such as for instance Lemala Mara or very high such as Sayari o Serengeti Bushtop.

Electricity is provided by a generator until 23.00.

Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge, Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge and Seronera Wildlife Lodge also belong to the same chain.
