Kusini is a high specification permanent and solitary tented camp located in the remote south-western sector of the Serengeti, about an hour game driving from Ndutu.

Kusini consists of 12 double large tents scattered around the main kopje and very well spaced out in order to grant a proper level of privacy and intimacy. Tents are raised on wooden decks and enjoy a view over the Serengeti plains from the outdoor veranda. Each tent features a double bed and en suite bathroom with flush loo, hot and cold running water in basin and shower. Electricity is supplied by solar panels and accumulated into batteries for night supply. Each tent has a personal attendant on call.

The camp is complemented by a central main tent hosting the dining area, the lounge and library and of course by the unfailing campfire. Internet WiFi is available at the main area.

This area, straddling Serengeti and Ngorongoro, becomes very relevant from December to April when it can be used as a base to reach many of the areas where the wildebeest migration could potentially be lingering or passing through ... when not in Kusini itself. For the remainder of the year it serves as a pleasant backwater with reasonable resident game including predators such as lions and cheetahs. Leopards are also around although more difficult to sight.

During the migration season, from December to March, Kusini has to be booked well in advance to get space. In all other months availability should not be a problem.
