Rift Safari
Traveling along the Rift Valley: Gibb's Farm

back

Located on the slopes of the forest of Ngorongoro in the beautiful rural environmental context of the valley of Karatu, Gibb's Farm was one of the oldest farms of north Tanzania. It was built in the german colonial period and it's entirely surrounded by vast coffee plantations, lush botanical gardens and cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants. The original building dated back to 1929 hosts the reception, the restaurant, the bar, the curio-shop and a small library. Spread all around are the beautiful farm cottages which have replaced most of the former standard rooms [rather dated and in need of renovation which we do not usually book]. The Farm Cottages provide a quite high quality standard: they feature two double beds, a fireplace and wide windows facing the outdoor veranda and the private tropical garden, spacious and well equipped bathrooms and a second outdoor shower.
The intention of the property, which lately acquired the farm, is to transform the same into a luxury small manor without turning away from the genuine rural context, its culture and local traditions ...

This is an extremely pleasant place and worth an inclusion is any safari ...
