Mbuzi Mawe is a upper-middle specification permanent tented camp located in central-east Serengeti half way between Seronera and Lobo, area statistically interested by the passage of the great
migration in July and then again between October and November.

According to us this is not a real prime location: it is quite too far from the central main game viewing area of Seronera and definitely too far from Serengeti Mara to use it as a base for game driving up there. Even in July and between October and November when wildebeest should be passing through it is hard to say if they will move rapidly or spend some time in zone ... so we only occasionally use it in our itinerary [we can can do it anytime if requested] prefering to split your stay between central and northern Serengeti in dry season and between central and southern or western Serengeti in green season, according to animals migratory patterns.

The camp consists of a large canvas and stone building containing reception, shop, lounge and dining area. There are 16 large safari tents each with outdoor veranda, two queen size double beds, en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and showers, hairdryer and shaver socket 240/2 pin.

The camp belongs to the chain of large Serena Lodges and despite its relatively small size it suffers the fact that the staff is not used to have toward guests that kind of care that is typical in same size and range tented camps.
